Logan's Keegan Dennis Signs with University of Evansville

Keegan Dennis

John A. Logan College sophomore Keegan Dennis of Carmi has signed a scholarship to pitch for the University of Evansville next year. Last spring he went 4-1 on the mound for the Volunteers, striking out 42 batters in 36 innings of work and compiling an ERA of 2.70.

"Keegan has proven his ability at Logan, one of the top community college baseball programs in the country, and I believe he has a lot of potential," said David Seifert, head baseball coach at U of E. "He's also an excellent student and a good fit for our university academically."

Dennis had offers from other Division I universities but ultimately chose Evansville because of geography.

"I'm very family-oriented and community-oriented, and Evansville is close to my home," Dennis said. "I'm glad that my family and friends will be able to watch me play. I also like the university. It has a great academic tradition and a good baseball program. I'm excited about continuing my collegiate career there."

Before suiting up for the Purple Aces, Dennis will pitch for the Volunteers this spring. Logan opens its spring campaign at Central Alabama Community College on February 8.
