The John A. Logan College Board of Trustees named Dr. Tim Daugherty as the College's Vice President of Administration at a special board meeting Tuesday. Daugherty currently serves as the Dean of Student Affairs at Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg. He is scheduled to begin his duties on June 1; until that date, Dean for Workforce Development and Community Education Phil Minnis will continue to serve as Interim Vice President and will also assist in the transition process.
Daugherty, who holds both his bachelors and masters degrees from Eastern Illinois University and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Southern Illinois University, comes to John A. Logan College with over 24 years experience in the Illinois Community College System. "I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve this district, and I am pleased with the trust put in me by the board of trustees to be a part of such a wonderful institution," said Daugherty
"We are very fortunate to get someone with his level of experience and credentials; he is going to be an outstanding addition to our team," stated College President Robert Mees.
Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees Rev. David Hancock, who was one of two trustees on the screening committee that included representatives from all three of the College's divisions, said the committee felt that because of his experience Daugherty was the best fit and would be able to step into the position without much of a transition process.
