JALC Baseball Alum Jamey Carroll Propels Rockies to Playoffs

On Monday night, former John A. Logan College baseball standout Jamey Carroll hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 13th inning, providing the game-winning RBI and sending his Colorado Rockies into the Major League Baseball playoffs.

Jerry Halstead, head baseball coach at Logan, recruited and coached Carroll when he played for the Volunteers, and he was proud of his former player's heroics.

"It's always gratifying to see one of your former players have success, but to do it when you're center stage with a national spotlight on you is really special," Halstead said. "Jamey is a great ambassador for our baseball program and the College in general."
