Marion Men Awarded AMVETS Post 31 Scholarships

John Dalton and Chris Henshaw of Marion were recently awarded 500 dollar scholarships to attend John A. Logan College by the Williamson County AMVETS Chapter Post 31. This is the first year that the Post has offered the scholarship. AMVETS is the nation’s most inclusive Congressionally-chartered veteran’s service organization, representing the interests of 20 million veterans. AMVETS is open to and fighting for all who honorably served in the United States military, including the Reserve and Guard, with more than 250,000 members nationwide.
John Dalton served in the United States Army 5th Special Forces Group Airborne as an Intelligence Analyst from 2014-2018 and in the Army National Guard from 2018-2019. He is a business major at John A. Logan College with plans to work towards a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources.
Chris Henshaw served in the United States Marion Corps from 2005-2009 in Groundside Supply. He is majoring in Computer Support and Networking and Cyber Security/Information Assurance at John A. Logan College with plans to continue work in Cyber Security in the Federal Government.
