CARTERVILLE — Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) seeking continuing professional education credits will get the opportunity to learn from one of the nation’s top CPA instructors during courses offered at John A. Logan College this summer.

Paul H. Koehler is a CPA with over 40 years of experience who has been awarded the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA’s) “Outstanding Instructor Award.”

Koehler will teach two sessions — each worth eight credits toward continuing professional education — during his two days at John A. Logan College. On July 24, his course will cover nonprofit accounting and financial reporting and on July 25, governmental accounting and auditing updates will be discussed.

“This is something that hasn’t been offered to CPAs in our area for quite awhile,” said Kara Gilbert, CPA and coordinator of the courses at John A. Logan College. “This is a great opportunity for CPAs in Southern Illinois.”

Registration for each session is $199, individuals 60 years old and older are eligible for a discounted rate of $141.50 per session. All course materials are included and lunch is provided. Both sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 4:00 p.m.

“We have an excellent instructor who has provided training for CPAs nationwide and is considered one of the nation’s most highly rated speakers and trainers,” Gilbert said.

To register, call 618-985-3741, Ext. 8202 or online through the John A. Logan College Continuing Education website. Sessions are listed under Occupational (CE) category and participants may register for each session individually.
