CARTERVILLE – The John A. Logan Lady Vols overcame a five-point deficit in the final minute to defeat Lincoln Trail, 59-58, Saturday.

Trailing 58-53 going into the final minute, the Lady Vols got a basket by Tiauanna Watkins and a 3-pointer by Miriah Donelson to tie the score at 58-58 with 32 seconds remaining.  After a Lincoln Trail turn over, Watkins was fouled and sank the winning free throw with nine seconds left.

Watkins led the Lady Vols with 19 points and 10 rebounds while Donelson scored 12 and Destiny Cozart pitched in 11.

Logan, 14-11 overall and 10-6 in the league, will host Southwestern Illinois on Tuesday, at 5 p.m. with a chance to clinch a home game in the District tournament the following Tuesday.
