CARTERVILLE – Southeastern Illinois ended an 11-game losing streak by upsetting John A. Logan, 96-93, in overtime Saturday. The Falcons, 3-13 and 2-5 in the league, never led in the game until Darryl Curry hit a 3-pointer with 1:12 remaining to put them up 82-80.

Logan’s Chad Culbreath sent the game to overtime with a base line jumper to tie the game at 82.

In the overtime, SIC grabbed the lead and went up, 88-83, until Culbreath scored seven straight points to put the Vols on top, 90-88, but again the excited Falcons gained the lead, 93-90, before Culbreath hit a three with nine seconds remaining to again tie the score at 93 all.

The Falcons rushed the ball up court and Michael Littlejohn hit the game winning corner three at the buzzer. Darryl Curry led SIC with 36 points while Littlejohn had 18 and Cletrell Pope added 19 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocks.

Logan, 11-5 and 3-3, was led by Jalen Perry with 26 while Culbreath had 22, Rashaun Richards scored 13, and Jerome Davis finished with 10.
