CARTERVILLE–The John A. Logan men’s basketball team returns to action on Saturday after a long holiday break. The Vols, who last played on Dec. 19 in a road win at Olney, will host Western Kentucky Tech in a 3 p.m. game Saturday.

The Volunteers, 9-4 overall and 3-2 in the league, defeated the Stars, 118-114, in overtime earlier this season in Paducah. Averaging 91.4 points per game, the Vols lead the nation in 3-point field goal percentage at 48.7%.

The Lady Vols, 7-5 overall and 4-1 in conference play, will return to action on Jan. 11, hosting Mineral Area in a 5 p.m. game. Mineral Area beat Logan, 73-69, in the season opener on the Cardinals’ home floor.  Mineral Area is 8-6 and coming off a 78-29 win over Malcolm X on Dec. 28.

The Lady Vols feature Tiaunna Watkins, the nation’s third-leading scorer at 22 points per game, and Gabby Sanders, the nation’s second-leading shot blocker with 3.5 blocks per game.
