The John A. Logan College Board of Trustees unanimously voted to lift the interim label from Dr. Ron House and name him the College’s eighth president.  House has served as interim since October of last year.  He will have a two-year contract running from September 1, 2016, to August 31, 2018.

Board Chairman Don Brewer believes that House is the right person at the right time for the College.

“Dr. House has provided solid steady leadership at a time in which we need it most,” said Brewer. “As we continue to navigate through the state budget crisis, it is a relief to know that we can continue to rely on his leadership.”

House is looking forward to the opportunity to continue the positive direction the College is moving in.

“I am very happy to spend the next couple of years at John A. Logan College; this place has always been very dear to me,” said House. “There are a lot of challenges facing higher education here in Illinois, but I am looking forward to the opportunity to continue and work together to get through it.”

The Board of Trustees will next meet in regular session on Tuesday, August 23 at 7 PM in the Administration Building.
