Five Logan Teams, 20 Individuals Win National Academic Awards

CARTERVILLE – The John A. Logan College Athletic Department can boast academic excellence after the grades were recorded this past school year. Five teams (men’s and women’s golf, softball, volleyball and women’s basketball) received “Team of the Year” status.
To quality, the team grade-point-average must be 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
Men’s golf checked in with a 3.10 GPA. Women’s basketball followed at 3.13. Volleyball was next at 3.25. Softball placed second with a 3.26 GPA. Women’s golf was in a league of its own, sporting a sparkling 3.55 team GPA.
Individually, there were five student-athletes who earned a perfect 4.0 GPA. They include: Annie Lietz (volleyball); Nicole Short and Katie Sandusky (softball); and Madison Bushue and Adrian Brown (women’s golf).
Other individuals recognized were: Carly Callahan, Lincoln Brasel, and Johanna Mandrell (volleyball); Mariah Bushue and Reagan Keepes (women’s golf); Jordyn Smith, Brooke Arnold, and Briah Winchester (softball); Cheyenne Abbadusky and Ternaecia Ashley (women’s basketball); Landon Vaughan, Neal Northcott, and Kody Rendleman (men’s golf); and Cody Birdsong and Peyton Cypress (baseball).
