CARTERVILLE - The John A. Logan College softball team got a little deeper Monday with the announced signing of graduated Goreville High School senior pitcher and utility player, Brittney Pritchett.

"Brittney is first and foremost a good kid from a good family," said Vols head coach Bruce Jilek. "I like the fact that she's a competitor and believe she will have a chance to help our ballclub this fall."

In addition to pitching, Pritchett has also played first base and the outfield. She was a three-sport athlete at Goreville, also competing in basketball and golf.

"I'm really excited about the opportunity to play at Logan," Pritchett said. "I enjoyed my campus visit and meeting with the coaches. It's a challenge to play ball at the next level, but I'm looking forward to it. I'm especially pleased to be able to play close to home so that my family and friends can make it to the games."

Pritchett said she is playing summer ball with the Southern Express.
