CARTERVILLE – A pair of John A. Logan College freshmen – outfielder Tiffany Gaimari and pitcher Jolyn Lake – have received postseason awards for their play this past spring season.
The lefthanded-swinging Gaimari from Wheaton batted .448 with a .493 on-base percentage. She led the Volunteers in hits with 60, including nine doubles, two triples and one home run. She drove in a team-high 31 runs and was second in runs scored with 31. Moreover, she struck out only 10 times in 134 at bats.
A righthander, Lake posted a team-best 12-6 overall record. The Okawville native put together a 2.17 earned-run average with 58 strikeouts and 34 walks in 113 innings of work.
Gaimari was named both Great Rivers Athletic All-Conference and All-Region 24. Lake was selected All-GRAC.
