PLYMOUTH, IND. - John A. Logan College sophomore Michael Mencaccy shot a three-over-par 75 Thursday and moved up the leader board from 57th to 43rd in third-round action of the National Junior College Athletic Association championships at Swan Lake Golf Course.
Mencaccy has a three-round total of 232 with one round to play.
Sophomore teammate, Connor Graves, who was tied for 19th going into the day and only eight strokes off the lead, fell back some Thursday with an 18-hole total of 81. That score dropped him to 34th overall. He has a three-day combined score of 230.
"Michael had a pretty solid day overall and Connor struggled some," said Logan head coach Tom Ferris. "With only one more round to go, it would be nice to see both of them play one of their best rounds of their career to go out on top of their game. Either way, it's been a pleasure coaching these two."
