PLYMOUTH, IND. - Two John A. Logan College sophomores made some major strides Wednesday in second-round action of the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II golf championship held at Swan Lake Golf Course.

Connor Graves shot an even-par 72 and vaulted 18 slots on the leaderboard from 37th place to 19th. He now has a two-day total of 149 and is eight shots back of the lead with two rounds remaining.

Michael Mencaccy also showed improvement, jumping from 84th to 57th following a round of 75. His two-day total is 157.

"I'm very pleased with the way Connor and Michael played today. They settled down and played more like they are capable of playing," said Vols head coach Tom Ferris. "I look forward to the next couple of days to see if they can continue to make even more improvement."

There are 128 golfers competing at Nationals.
