DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – Inclement weather forced cancellation of the fourth and final round of the National Junior College Athletic Association championships Thursday.

The Volunteers thus finish eighth in the nation with a 54-hole score of 1,049.

Sophomore Dana Kaufmann of Carterville shot the low score for the tourney for Logan at 249 and tied for 29th place overall out of 100 golfers.

Sophomore teammate Brittanie Garrison of Carmi followed with a combined score of 250, good for a 31st-place tie. Sophomore Abby Miller of Anna-Jonesboro was next at 268 to tie for 45th place. Sophomore Mollie Borowiak of Nashville finished at 282 overall and in a tie for 63rd place. Freshman Kirsten Faulkner of Massac County turned in a three-day total of 292, good for a 75th-place tie.

“Clearly, this wasn’t the way I wanted our season to end, but we pretty much finished where we were ranked nationally,” said Vols head coach Bill Glenn. “It’s another top 10 finish. I shouldn’t be too unhappy about that.”

Host Daytona State won the tournament with an impressive three-day total of 886.
