Opportunity doesn't knock - it clicks!We offer a totally online program for educational interpreters. You can choose to take the entire program, or a class or classes that interest you. Logan College's Interpreter Preparation Program, a leader in online education since 1999.The program was first offered fall of 2007. We have been offering online classes since 1999, but developed our educational interpreting online program because of the need many educational interpreters have for professional development. Apply for admissions online. After you fill out your application, send an e-mail to Paula Willig at paula.willig@jalc.edu so she can register you for classes. To apply for this program you must already be interpreting, or have an associates degree or certificate in interpreting or strong sign language skills (four semesters of coursework in ASL and Deaf Culture preferred). Registering for an Online Class: Students living anywhere taking our on-line courses pay in district rates. There is also a lab fee for each course that covers the cost of maintaining our internet platform. If you haven't applied to John A. Logan College, you can apply for admission on-line. Also, please e-mail Paula Willig so she can make sure you are enrolled in the courses that you want to take. Be sure to specify which courses you want in your e-mail. Before classes start: Purchase your books or DVD materials so that you have them for the new semester. The majority of the books for your classes are available for purchase online at the John A. Logan College Bookstore.
