Students are Now Registering for On-Line Courses
will provide feedback over the internet.  Some of the feedback may involve using animation and streamed video.  Paula has already begun to make significant use of streamed video and animation both on IPP Web Sites, and in courses that already have a video component such as Field Experience.  Students post their questions and the response is often a video animation.
 
 
Tina Caloud is a Valuable Asset to our Program
Tina Caloud, a recent graduate of Gallaudet University and graduate student at Western Maryland College, has been teaching American Sign Language Courses for the Interpreter Preparation Program since spring of 1999.
In addition to teaching ASL I and II, she has team taught American Sign Language Linguistics II and presented a workshop entitled:  "ASL to English Extravaganza!"  Her 
present her workshop there.

The Rank of Associate Professor Granted to Paula Willig
Paula Willig has been granted the rank of Associate Professor at a recent meeting of the John A. Logan College Board of Trustees.  Paula, previously an assistant professor, has been teaching at Logan for six years.
In addition to teaching, Paula assisted in program assessment, curriculum development, web page design, and the IPP's Mentorship Program.  She and Paul Menkis won 
President Clinton's Connections 2000 award for their Mentorship Program.
Paula has created two totally on-line courses soon to be offered.  She has also added an on-line component to all of her other courses.
Paula says that she thoroughly enjoys teaching at Logan, and enjoys her colleagues in the IPP.
