Who are we?

We are the Midwest Gallaudet University Regional Center, (GURC) based at John A. Logan College in southern Illinois. Our purpose is the share the resources of Gallaudet University with you. Gallaudet University is the only liberal arts university for deaf and hard of hearing people in the world.

These are the resources we can share:

  • Workshops and training events
  • Help with technology
  • Extension courses

Gallaudet University hosts the annual Academic Bowl for high school students. The competition is in the spring.

There are six Regional Centers in the United States. The Midwest GURC serves thirteen states: North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri and Kentucky.
