The Political Science Club

This nonpartisan student organization is open to students from ALL majors and exists to provide ample opportunities for involvement in practical applications of the concepts and principles of political science. This is accomplished by involvement in such activities as sponsoring campus political speakers, student debates of current political issues, working in political campaigns, sponsoring voter registration drives, and traveling to the state and national capitols. The Model UN

Model United Nations’ club offers an opportunity for students to learn about the workings of the United Nations, learn about the many different countries of the world, and apply that knowledge in a simulation setting in Chicago once a year. Students choose and represent a different nation each year at the Chicago simulation. In the past years, students from John A. Logan College have represented Argentina, Austria, and Turkey... Model Illinois Government (ITD200D)

What IS Model Illinois Government, you ask? This is an interdisciplinary study course designed for those interested in social science. However, you do not need to be a social science major to take this course. Students meet for the first six weeks of Spring semester and prepare for the governmental simulation which takes place in Springfield, Illinois during the first weekend in March every year. The course meets on Thursday evenings from 4 – 6 p.m. in Room C249. We will travel to Springfield, Illinois March 1 – 4, 2007. Please see your advisor for enrollment information.
