Robert Fester’s Biography

After graduating from Centralia High School, Robert Fester attended Kaskaskia College. After military service, he earned a B.A. in Political Science at Illinois State University. At ISU, his areas of interest were political philosophy and constitutional law. He also did area concentrations in Asian studies and American history. He continued his post-secondary education at Southern Illinois University where in 1981 he earned an M.S. in Communications and later did advanced graduate study in educational administration.

Mr. Fester is also a veteran of the United States Army. He was awarded the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute intensive language study program in Mandarin Chinese.

Fester has been employed at John A. Logan College since 1981. He is currently the Director of Veterans & Military Personnel Student Services.
