Cheryl L. Thomas is a biology instructor in the Life Science department and teaches anatomy & physiology. Prior to accepting a faculty position, Cheryl was the director of the Student Success Center for eleven years at the College. In this role, she focused on a variety of programs that improved the retention and success of John A. Logan College students. Her interests include how learning styles affect success, as well as how student engagement improves student retention. These concepts now carry over in her courses, where she works to get students interested, involved and engaged in the course material. Teaching in a community college has been a lifelong goal of Ms. Thomas, as she feels through teaching she also learns from her students.
