Natalie is a native of southern Illinois who has resided in the Herrin area for most of her life. She attended John A. Logan College where she graduated with an Associate of Art degree in 1992. After graduating from JALC she moved to Cape Girardeau, Missouri to work on a political campaign for a year and then to Washington, D.C. to intern in the office of Congressman Glenn Poshard. Natalie then returned to southern Illinois where she earned her B.S. in Speech Communication/Public Relations from SIUC.
While working on her Masters Natalie was employed at Shawnee Community College in the Academic Enhancement Program (a Student Support Services program) and after receiving her M.S.Ed. in Higher Education from SIUC she worked at Illinois State University as an advisor before returning to southern Illinois. After returning to southern Illinois Natalie has taught speech and education courses for JALC and has worked as an academic advisor and the Coordinator of Recruitment, Retention and Teacher Certification at SIUC.
