Dr. Marilyn Toliver's Biography

Dr. Marilyn Toliver completed her Ph.D in Early Childhood Education in 1992 and began teaching full-time at John A. Logan College. Prior to that, she taught part-time at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and Rend Lake College in Ina, Illinois. Prior to teaching college level classes she worked seven years as a social worker in the Human Resources Department with the City of Carbondale participating in several programs serving low-income families. In addition, Dr. Toliver has worked as coordinator, supervisor, teacher, assistant teacher or volunteer in several early childhood programs to include Head Start, City of Carbondale's child care program, SIU Child Development Laboratories, and Glendale kindergarten programs.
