Health and Safety Coach (CCR&R)

Description:

The Health and Safety Coach reports to the Director of Child Care Resource and Referral and is responsible for scheduling and conducting on-site visits to License Exempt (LE) child care providers who receive payment through the IDHS CCAP.

Education & Experience Requirements

Education: Associate degree from an accredited college or university

Experience: Three (3) years of full-time work experience in a related field; provided technical assistance, coached, and conducted home visits; and / or experience in working in an Early Childhood program or public schools.

Special Requirements: A valid Illinois driver’s license and with an acceptable driving record

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Maintaining an up-to-date listing of approved license-exempt providers
  • Assisting providers with accessing and completing required training documents
  • Scheduling and implementing health and safety visits in provider’s homes,
  • Confirming health and safety practices are being met
  • Maintaining required files and entering data in the timeframe and format specified by IDHS
  • Providing technical assistance and ongoing support to license-exempt providers, including monthly contacts by phone, email, in person, or by mail
  • Completing required training and ongoing professional development, including participation in required workdays
  • Assisting with the exempt grant process, including ordering and delivering materials as needed

Non-Essential Functions of the Position

  • Participate in community outreach events
  • Other duties as assigned. Duties must be performed on the John A. Logan College campus or designated location.
