Matt Garrison’s Biography
Originally from Olney, IL, I lived in North Carolina, Wyoming, Oregon, and Colorado and worked in construction before returning to Southern Illinois in 2002 to attend graduate school at SIUC. I began teaching full-time at John A. Logan College in the fall of 2005.
Currently, I teach Composition 101 and 102, Journalism, and Film classes. I’m also the adviser for the student newspaper, The Volunteer, which is now available online. In my spare time, I read, write, cook, play guitar, watch movies, ride bikes, and hangout with my wife, Holly, and our son, Dash.
