Originally from Olney, IL, I spent about seven years milling around in other time zones (including stints in North Carolina, Wyoming, Oregon, and Colorado) and working in construction before returning to Southern Illinois in 2002 to attend graduate school at SIUC. I began teaching full-time at John A. Logan College in the fall of 2005.
Currently, I am teaching Composition 101 and 102 along with Technical Writing. I also volunteer in The Write Place, Logan's literacy tutoring facility. My academic interests include Working-Class Studies, American Literature, and Cultural Studies. In my spare time, I like to read, write, cook, play guitar, watch movies, ride my bike, and work on our house.
