When your supervisors respect and appreciate the differences among people and capitalize on the diversity in your work force, everyone is a winner. Complying with EEO laws make good business sense and is the right thing to do.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has given people with disabilities new legal rights. This law is changing the way we must view people who have disabilities. The ADA prohibits all forms of employment discrimination based on disability. It also requires us to make every reasonable effort to accommodate people’s disabilities.

Job interviews also involve other pitfalls that supervisors and managers should be aware of. Asking the wrong questions or saying the wrong thing could land your organization in legal trouble. Asking certain questions during an interview could provide an unsuccessful applicant grounds for a discrimination lawsuit. Making promises to a new hire during the interviewing and hiring process can subsequently lead to a wrongful discharge or breach of contract lawsuit if your organization is unable to keep such promises. This course is designed to help managers and supervisors develop a greater awareness of the business and legal risks inherent in the interviewing and hiring process.
