and industry.
Classes can be arranged for instruction to take place at the
business site. Most courses are free of charge. Sample course schedules

Accident Prevention
Due to rapid changes in safety equipment technology and accident
prevention guidelines, employers are requiring employees/potential
employees to upgrade their safety skills. This course will give
employees/students a thorough understanding of accident prevention
guidelines.

This course introduces students to the applications of ergonomic

Proper Lifting Techniques

Falls
This course covers safeguards and procedures for working on

slip, trip, fall type injuries and common causes of hazards. This offers a

and increase employee awareness.

Equipment (PPE)

Industrial Truck Training
This involves operational training that utilizes classroom and
supervised practice for the purpose of certifying employees on the use of
a variety of powered industrial trucks. This program is flexible and
efficient, introducing the safe operation of fork trucks, scissor lifts,
boom lifts, Bobcats, and other forms of industrial vehicles.

The Center for Business and Industry
offers an extensive program of compliance-based training in the area of
hazardous waste material handling. The offerings range from the extensive
40-hour Hazwoper training to an 8-hour refresher. Hazardous material
handling courses range from basic courses as specified under
HM-126F/HM-181 to first responder awareness training. The basic emergency
response training and 24-hour hazardous material technician courses are
also offered.
Various training programs are available for asbestos awareness and
abatement.
