Former Lady Vol Finds Success at Kent State

Anna Kowalska

Former John A. Logan College center Anna Kowalska was named 2007-08 MVP of the Kent State University women's basketball team. She averaged 18 points and 9.3 rebounds per game in the first 16 outings of the season for the Golden Flashes before suffering a foot injury. Despite not playing at full strength in her last seven contests, she still finished fourth in the conference in scoring (14.5 ppg) and third in rebounding (7.8 rpg), earning third team All-MAC honors.

"I'm really happy for Anna," said Marty Hawkins, head women's basketball coach at Logan. "She had a great career here, and I'm glad she is playing so well at Kent State. It's always gratifying to see one of your former players go on to achieve success at the next level."
