Angie Jilek is a first-year head coach for the softball program at JALC. She is in her 12th season altogether with the program, having served as an assistant to her husband, Bruce Jilek, the previous 11 years.

Along with her on-field coaching duties, Angie is an academic advisor. She also coordinates recruitment, travel, and scheduling for the Lady Vols.

Before coming to Logan, Angie had coaching stints at Shawnee Community College, Waltonville High School, and Mid-Continent College. She also has international coaching experience. Working for USA Athletes International (USAAI), she has led U.S. teams into softball competitions in Europe.

A native of Benton, Angie played softball and basketball at Benton High School (Class of ’93) and later at Rend Lake College (Class of ’95).

Angie Jilek has a bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University in English and Master's degree in education from Rockford College. She and her husband, Bruce, have a daughter, Zoee.
