Carterville Night
The John A. Logan College Athletic Department will host Carterville Night on Wednesday, February 11. The Volunteers and Lady Vols will play Rend Lake College in an important conference doubleheader. The women’s game tips off at 5:30 p.m., and the men’s game begins at 7:30 p.m.
All Carterville residents will receive free admission to the games, and Carterville students can enjoy free popcorn and Pepsi, compliments of the Bank of Herrin in Carterville. Prizes will be raffled off during both games and Banterra Bank is sponsoring a T–shirt giveaway. Filo the Fox, the Southern Illinois Healthcare mascot, will be on hand to greet young fans, toss out T–shirts, and pose for pictures. Face painting will also be available.
Entertainment will be provided by SIU feature twirler AnnaMarie Cook of Johnston City. The Carterville Junior High School band and cheerleaders are also expected to perform.
The coaches and members of the JALC volleyball team, which won the 2008 Great Rivers Athletic Conference and Region 24 titles this fall, will be honored at halftime of the men’s game.
