Kyle Smithpeters – Assistant Basketball Coach
Kyle Smithpeters is in his third year as the assistant men’s basketball coach at Logan. Before joining the Volunteers, he served as an assistant men’s basketball coach for one season at Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg, Illinois.
Born in McLeansboro, Illinois, Smithpeters moved with his family to Harrisburg when he was 12. After graduating from Harrisburg High School in 2001, he attended Southeastern Illinois College where he played basketball for two years. The Falcons compiled a record of 55-6 during that time and advanced to the NJCAA National Tournament, reaching the Final Four. In 2004, he transferred to Southern Illinois University where he was a part of two Missouri Valley Conference championship Saluki basketball teams. He graduated from SIU with a bachelor’s degree in history education in 2006.
He and his wife, Carrie, reside in Harrisburg.
