Jerry Halstead – Head Baseball Coach

Jerry Halstead

Jerry Halstead is in his 26th season as the head baseball coach at John A. Logan College. During that time he has built the team into one of the top baseball programs in the country. With an impressive record of 1,021-556, he ranks sixth in wins among active NJCAA coaches. He also serves as the athletic director at Logan, a role he assumed in May of 2001.

A native of Carterville, Halstead attended Southern Illinois University and graduated in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education. While attending SIU, he pitched for the Salukis for three years, helping win Missouri Valley Conference Championships and participating in the NCAA Tournament.
