Tom Ferris – Head Men’s Golf Coach
Tom Ferris became the head coach for Logan’s men’s golf team in the spring of 2000, and he has turned the program into a perennial national contender. He has been named Region 24 Coach of the Year six times. Before taking over the men’s program, he coached the College’s women’s golf team when it was created in 1998. The Lady Vols won the Region 24 Tournament title in 1998 and qualified for nationals both years that he was at the helm.
In addition to his coaching duties, Ferris has been providing play-by-play and color commentary for Logan basketball games since they began airing on the radio. He is still a key voice on the Volunteer Network and was inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame as a broadcaster.
He is a 1962 graduate of Wichita State University where he played football and baseball. The father of three, he and his wife, Kay, reside in Marion.
