Bob Fester's Biography

Bob Fester was named Director of Academic Advisement in December, 2007. He previously served as Advisement Coordinator. Prior to that, he served as admissions counselor and assistant coach in women's basketball, women's golf, and men's golf. He is a term faculty member in history and political science.

Bob earned his Bachelor of Arts from Illinois State University (1973) and his Master of Science degree from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale (1983). He has also done advanced graduate study in Educational Administration.

Bob's professional affiliations include the National Association for College Admissions Counselors, National Academic Advising Association, and the Illinois Association of Collegiate Records and Admissions Officers. He is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society.

Bob is an Army veteran who was awarded both the Vietnam Campaign and Vietnam Service medals in 1971. He is a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. His hobbies include golf, music, hunting and reading.
