Requirements for Students Who are Less than 18 Years of Age

Students who would like to attend John A. Logan College on a part-time basis who are younger than 18 years of age should:

  1. Have all of their high school transcripts sent to the college.
  2. Take our placement exam.
  3. Home-schooled students should include a letter from the high school they would have attended that indicates the student has “severed the ties” from the high school.

Candidates cannot enroll as full–time students (12 or more hours) for fall or spring semesters. The only way they can enroll for full–time is to have their high school sign a dual credit form (giving their permission) for that amount of hours. If they are a home schooled student the only way they can enroll for full–time is to have their legally assigned high school sign the dual credit form (giving their permission) for that amount of hours.

Even with the signature giving rights to take full-time classes their GPA must be over a 2.5 at the college to finalize full–time status. They are exempt from this if it is their first semester.

Potential students under these categories cannot receive financial aid.
