Federal Stafford Loans
John A. Logan College does not package federal loans. In order for the Financial Aid Office to process a federal loan please follow the steps below.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the respective year
- Register for 6 hours of courses or more for the respective semester at JALC
- Complete your Financial Aid File with JALC Financial Aid Office
- Complete Entrance Counseling at http://mappingyourfuture.org.
- Complete Loan Request Form by clicking here to download
PDF file. Complete Borrowers Information Sheet by clicking here to download PDF file. The Loan Request Form and Borrowers Information Sheet must both be submitted to the Financial Aid Office. The two (2) forms will not be accepted if the John A. Logan College Financial Aid Office has not received confirmation from your lender that the student's online application has been received by the lender.
- Students will be notified by the lender of any further information that is needed to finalize the loan process. Respond quickly to their requests to avoid delays in receiving loan funds.
- Students RECEIVING student loans must remain enrolled and complete coursework to receive loan proceeds
- *Complete Exit Counseling at http://mappingyourfuture.org prior to final exams for the respective semester in which the first disbursement was received, if this will be your final semester.

Students should contact the lender directly if the lender is not listed.
