American Sign Language Club

This group provides recreational, social, and fundraising activities for the ASL program students as well as deaf and hard of hearing students on campus. It promotes college-wide awareness of the deaf and hard of hearing. It also facilitates skill building for students in the Interpreter Preparation Program. Club funds are used directly for student benefit such as offsetting certification testing, immersion weekends, and workshop attendance.

Auto Body

This club is for students involved in automotive studies, especially those in the Auto Body Repair program. Social functions and off-campus trips are scheduled. This club is a VICA chapter and has competed in state and national competitions. It also conducts car shows and auto raffles.

Automotive Club

This club is open to all students from those involved in automotive studies, especially the Automotive Service Technology program to anyone else interested in automotive. Fun and educational social functions and off-campus trips are scheduled to help students learn about different jobs in the automotive industry. The club also organizes events and fundraisers such as car shows and auto raffles.

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK)

Phi Theta Kappa is the official honor society for two-year colleges. PTK provides recognition for academic excellence as well as opportunity for intellectual enrichment, social activities, and service to the College and community. All students are welcome to join as provisional members, Full membership is by invitation for students who earn at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA after taking at least 12 credit hours. PTK was founded in 1918 and JALC’s chapter was chartered on January 25, 1970.

Political Science Club

This student organization exists to provide ample opportunities for involvement in practical applications of the concepts and principles of political science.
