What is dual credit?

Dual credit is an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors who are capable of meeting an increased challenge to earn free college credit through selected high school courses.

  • Gives high school students a jump start on their college education.
  • Eligible high school student may earn credit in selected high school courses, as well as free college credit.
  • Dual credit course content is comparable to entry-level college courses.
  • Most credits are transferable to most colleges and universities.
  • College tuition and fees are waived for these courses if the student receives the grade specified in the agreement.
