| EDC 210 1 credit hour This course will serve as an introduction to the roles assumed by classroom teachers. The course includes documented clinical experiences involving observation of and interaction with children and practitioners at work within the appropriate subject matter and age category. The experience is planned, guided, and evaluated by a supervisor. The course will be an orientation to the Reflective Teaching Model and to the teaching profession. During the semester, there are 2 (1-hour) class meetings scheduled to be held on-campus. Participation and observation in the public schools for a total of 36 clock hours is mandatory for course completion. Placement in the school settings is coordinated by the transfer education office. EDC 211 3 credit hours This course will serve as an introduction to the roles assumed by special educators. The course includes documented clinical experience involving observation of and interaction with child learners and practitioners at work within the appropriate special needs subject matter and age category. This experience is planned, guided, and evaluated by a host teacher and must occur within an education setting for a total of 100 clock hours. During the semester, there are 3 (2) hour meetings scheduled to be held on-campus. |
